Clickade Content & Moderation Manual
Clickade is a platform for publishing and playing games. To keep the platform usable and safe, games, listings, creator profiles, media, and other public content must follow these rules.
These rules apply whether a game is free or paid.
1. Core Rule
Do not use Clickade to upload, distribute, promote, or monetize content that is illegal, malicious, stolen, dangerously deceptive, or prohibited by Clickade policy.
Creators are responsible for the content they publish.
2. Unauthorized Reuploads
Do not upload another person's game and present it as your own.
This includes:
- direct copies;
- lightly modified copies;
- renamed or repackaged builds;
- unauthorized mirrors;
- copies with only branding, menus, or metadata changed.
Open-source or redistributable software may be uploaded only when the applicable license allows it and the listing accurately credits the original project where required.
Permission to redistribute something does not automatically grant permission to claim original authorship or monetize it.
3. Copyright, Trademarks, and Fan Content
Creators must have the necessary rights to distribute the content in their games.
Using third-party intellectual property may require permission, especially when monetization is involved.
Clickade may:
- request proof of permission;
- remove or restrict disputed content;
- suspend verification;
- hold or freeze creator earnings;
- respond to valid legal notices.
Fan-made status by itself does not guarantee that distribution or monetization is allowed.
4. Malware and Harmful Behavior
Games and uploaded files may not contain or intentionally perform harmful behavior such as:
- malware;
- credential theft;
- ransomware;
- destructive file operations;
- unauthorized crypto mining;
- spyware;
- persistence mechanisms unrelated to legitimate game functionality;
- attempts to bypass Clickade security controls;
- intentionally harmful downloads or redirects.
Security-sensitive behavior may cause immediate suspension while Clickade investigates.
See the Technical & Safety Requirements for more detail.
5. Misleading Content
Do not intentionally mislead players about what they are downloading, launching, or paying for.
Examples include:
- fake screenshots;
- fake gameplay videos;
- impersonating another developer;
- pretending to be an official release;
- hiding that a build is substantially different from the listing;
- misleading Token pricing;
- promising unavailable features to encourage purchases.
6. Monetization Abuse
Paid games must not use deceptive or abusive monetization.
Examples include:
- hidden Token charges;
- charging again inside the same session without clear disclosure and authorization;
- manipulating players into accidental purchases;
- fake scarcity or false claims designed to force purchases;
- exploiting bugs to create duplicate charges.
Clickade may limit monetization even when the underlying game remains publishable.
7. Harassment and Public-Facing Content
Public listings, creator profiles, descriptions, screenshots, videos, and other community-visible content may not be used for targeted harassment, threats, or abusive impersonation.
Games containing mature, disturbing, or intense fictional material may require accurate labeling or age/content restrictions where Clickade supports them.
8. Illegal or Dangerous Content
Clickade may prohibit content that meaningfully facilitates illegal or dangerous activity, even when presented inside a game.
Context matters. Fictional depiction is not automatically the same as real-world instruction or facilitation.
When content creates a serious legal, safety, or platform-security concern, Clickade may restrict or remove it.
9. Moderation Actions
Depending on severity, Clickade may:
- request changes;
- add a warning or restriction;
- remove media from a listing;
- unlist a game;
- disable monetization;
- suspend verification;
- freeze creator earnings;
- remove a game;
- restrict publishing;
- suspend or terminate an account.
Clickade may take immediate temporary action when necessary to protect users or investigate a serious issue.
10. Appeals
When practical, creators should be told why significant moderation action was taken.
If Clickade provides an appeal system, creators may submit additional context or evidence for review.
An appeal does not guarantee reversal of the original decision.
Repeatedly submitting the same rejected content without meaningful changes may itself result in additional restrictions.
11. Reports
Players and creators should be able to report:
- stolen games;
- impersonation;
- misleading listings;
- malware or suspicious behavior;
- copyright concerns;
- abusive monetization;
- other rule violations.
False or intentionally abusive reporting may itself violate platform rules.
12. Verification Is Not Immunity
A Verified badge means that Clickade reviewed the game for authenticity and related verification requirements.
It does not exempt the game from moderation.
A verified game may still be restricted, unverified, demonetized, or removed if new information or later updates violate Clickade rules.
13. Quick Summary
Publish what you are allowed to publish. Represent it accurately. Do not harm users. Do not steal games. Do not hide charges. Do not treat verification as a shield against future moderation.
If a game can follow those principles, it is already most of the way there.
